it never ceases to amaze me that people think that clinically depressed people committing suicide is selfish. depression is a mental illness - literally a chemical imbalance in the brain - and yet people treat it like it’s a voluntary emotion you can just get over. you don’t tell someone with cancer to just get over it. you wouldn’t say someone dying of cancer is selfish. when will people realize an illness of the mind is just as involuntary and unselfish as an illness of the body?
